Madara Mazjane is a Youth Program Coordinator for Resource Center for Women in Latvia. She coordinates and organizes local, national and international events that aim to raise awareness of gender equality and prevent gender based violence among adolescents. Madara is an expert in non-formal education approaches in various target groups and has developed skills in project development and management. She is currently serving as a Community Solutions Fellow, hosted by Break the Cycle, in Washington, D.C. During her fellowship in the United States, Madara hopes to learn about promoting non-violent communication among youth while also developing skills in the organization of campaigns, workshops and other events which aim to raise awareness about gender equality. Upon returning from the Community Solutions Program, Madara plans to create, implement, and support a program that provides young people with the skills, knowledge, and attitude they need to become change-makers in their local communities.
